The Maple Sweet Shop at White Meadows Farms has carried The Master Cleanser, by Stanley Burroughs, for over ten years.  Originally published in 1976, this book has helped thousands of people obtain better health, and shed a few pounds in the process.  Additionally, The Master Cleanser contains recipes and home remedies for various conditions.

You may have seen Beyoncé, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, talking about losing weight for an acting role by going on The Master Cleanser.  This also made the pages of Maclean’s, ’s weekly news magazine.

Over the years, we have heard hundreds of testimonials about the benefits of the "Lemonade," or "Maple Syrup" diet.  These endorsements are from the customers in the Maple Sweet Shop who return again and again to purchase the darker grades of Maple Syrup which White Meadows always stocks.

These darker grades (Canada No. 2 Amber and Canada No. 3 Dark) are not widely available; some producers don't produce Dark grade syrup, at all.  Amber and Dark are also known as Grade B and C, respectively, in the USDA and Vermont grading systems.  They are more desirable for the Master Cleanse because of their higher mineral content.

When the Sugar Bush begins to awaken in the spring, the water in the ground begins to defrost.  As the season progresses, the heavier minerals in the ground also defrost. These minerals come up through the tree, and combine with the Maple’s stored Sugar. When the sap is collected from the tree, and boiled into syrup, these minerals remain. Typically, we produce the lighter grades at the beginning of the season, and darker grades at the end.

The basis of the Cleanse is to consume 6 to 12 glasses a day of a drink comprised of:
The Master Cleanser "with Special Needs and Problems" By: Stanley Burroughs
-Spring Water

-Fresh Squeezed Lemon or Lime Juice

-Pure Maple Syrup

-Cayenne Pepper

The darker grades of Maple Syrup, with higher mineral content, will help to sustain the body through the fast.

Some people have claimed to be hungry on the Cleanse, it has been our experience that by using the darker grades of syrup the hunger is greatly diminished.

White Meadows Farms produces both Canada No. 2 Amber, and Canada No. 3 Dark grades of Maple Syrup, which are very effective in the Master Cleanse.  Although our  Maple Syrup is not certified organic, it is as close as you can get, without the paper work.  Our Syrup does not contain Formaldehyde.
