Spring time is just around the corner. Time to start thinking about school tours and a curriculum based tour of an authentic Maple Sugar bush. For over ten years, White Meadows Farms has been operating a full scale Maple Sugar Bush. We incorporate many aspects of the maple Syrup making process into our tours, from managing growth of the trees to the bottling of the Maple Syrup and everything in between. White Meadows Farms is eager to share the knowledge that a decade of making Maple syrup has brought to us.

Start Date: Tuesday February 24th, 2007
End Date: Thursday March 26th, 2007

Please note: Our school tours run rain or shine. However, high winds/heavy rain and/or thunderstorms may cause us to close the Sugar Bush portion of the tour for safety reasons. We do have alternate activities for your tour should this occur.
Cancellation Policy: In order for us to fill a canceled tour we require three weeks notice.
The adventure begins when your tour guide takes your group on a wagon ride out to our Sugar Bush. Nestled in a Carolinian forest the education possibilities are almost limitless, but your experienced tour guide will offer an outdoor learning experience that you and your students will be talking about for the rest of the year.
Our tour guides are chosen for their ability to engage audiences of all ages, making the educational component of your field trip as much fun as it is informative. Along with the knowledge of Maple Syrup from tree to table your guide could also explain some of the mysteries of the Carolinian forest or some of the rich history of the Short Hills area. Upon completion of your tour each person will receive a small jug of White Meadows Farms pure Maple syrup to enjoy at home.
If there is some specific area of the Ontario curriculum your class will be covering at the time of your tour, please let us know, when you are booking the tour, and we will be happy to emphasize this with your group.

Just the right amount of fun and information put together to create a tour just for preschoolers. Our pre-school tour guides have a special rapport with children. We have developed a special compact version of a Maple Syrup adventure within the boundaries of the farmyard, just the right size for the wee ones.
Your guide will provide your group with an easy to comprehend journey of Maple Syrup from tree to table. An exciting tractor pulled wagon ride takes your group on a circle trip to the Sugar Bush. Passengers do not get off the wagon until it is safely returned to the farmyard. The adventure concludes at our Pancake House where each person will receive a pancake to sample White Meadows Farms own Maple Syrup and a drink

Just let us know if you need an earlier or later start time for any of the tours. We will do everything we can to make it happen.
All three of our tours are offered in English or French. Our French guides are senior students attending the local extended French High School. They are selected by the director of the Extended French Program for their exceptional ability to communicate in French. They are also very knowledgeable about all things Maple.
In order to accommodate the many requests for Maple products from The Maple Sweet Shop from students, parents and teachers alike, we supply an order sheet with your confirmation letter. Parents and students and teachers can then make their selections at home. We offer a full range of Maple goodies from Maple syrup to Maple candies to Maple Butter and Maple jelly and more. We are on a never ending quest for more things Maple; each year we try to produce or bring in a few new items to expand our selection. Upon your arrival at our farm you will be asked for the completed order forms and our staff will have the orders ready for you to pick-up at the conclusion of your tour.
