Sugar Bush Trek Update

Due to the rapidly changing situation around COVID-19 we are canceling our Sugar Bush Trek until further notice. Our Maple Sweets Shop will remain open during this time, however, due to food safety our Sugar Shack will be closed to the public while in production. We hope you stay safe and healthy over the coming weeks.

After the guided portion of your Trek, Taffy-on-Snow in hand, meander along the remainder of the sugar bush trail at your own pace. Besides the peaceful atmosphere of the woodland trail and the chance to spot resident wildlife, your Trek has more adventures in store.

Visit our Lumberjack Shack, pick a partner, and test your teamwork with our two-man saw -- the pride and joy of the North American lumberjack. You can keep the coin of wood you cut, and get it hot-branded with the Year. We call this keepsake ‘pioneer bling.’

Putter along the natural slopes of the forest trail to our modern Sap Ladder pipeline system. Ever wonder how we defy gravity to transport our sap through pipes from the forest, uphill to the holding tank? Witness the answer here.

Now jog your memory through all the adventures of your trek with our Sap Line Maze. Stop at ‘forks in the road’ or ‘branches in the path’ to answer the posted questions. Answer correctly and the correct path to take will be revealed. Lost? Just backtrack to try again. Test how much you remember from your Sugar Bush Trek.

Once clear of the maze, take a last pit stop before you wander back for your return journey on the Sugar Shuttle -- at our Wingspan Measure. Step up and test your arm’s reach against the wingspans of local birds, from the tiny barn owl to the mighty blue heron. You won’t know to which you'll compare until you try.

Back at the farm, don’t miss a visit to our Sweet Shop to fill your take-home cravings, or if you haven’t already, visit us in the Sugar Shack. This is where our family makes our 100% Pure Maple Syrup today. Taste our homemade gourmet delights and let us answer any new questions that came to mind on your exploration. If the weather's right, you may even get to see our evaporator in action!
